A Quick History of Audi

Audi is a German auto manufacturer, and happens to be a member of the Volkswagen Group. Based in Ingolstadt, Germany – Audi has been around since 1909. Audi really grew into itself in the 1960’s after it became a part of Volkswagen and the brand relaunched in 1965.

Audi was quite successful across the U.S. with the Audi Quattro in the 1980’s and the late 1990’s Audi A4- followed by the original Audi R8, RS3, and the 2003 RS6. Since, Audi has stayed steady in providing vehicles that consumers simply love to drive.

The Audi Q7 and Q8 are both on the top 10 list for best Luxury Midsize SUVs in America (as reported by the U.S. News Report) – proving that luxury can extend beyond the race car and encompass your family too.

Cool Car Fact – The four rings of the Audi symbol represent what were previously the four motor vehicle manufacturers of Germany: Audi, DKW, Horsch, and Wanderer. It is an homage to the history of auto manufacturing in Germany and these founding companies still inspire the brand to this day.
